Job Summary:

In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical inputs, guidance and leading project execution teams to design industrial water & wastewater treatment projects. Shall have knowledge of water chemistry, concept design, plant level water balance, applicable technologies and equipment selection, equipment sizing criteria, in industrial water & wastewater treatment. Key focus areas include Raw water treatment, Potable water treatment, Cooling water treatment, Demineralized water treatment, Desalination, Condensate Polishing, Softening plants and wastewater treatment for Petroleum Refineries, Petrochemicals, Chemicals, Power plants and Mining & Metals. This position is based in Gurgaon, India. 

 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team to deliver projects in industrial water & wastewater globally.
  • Contribute to successful delivery of projects, including providing technical input, technical review and manage day-to- day tasks.
  • Work collaboratively with other engineering disciplines to identify and deliver innovative project outcomes.
  • Undertake process design, engineering, which includes developing Plant level overall water balance, alternate treatment options considering available raw water quality and required quality for different industrial uses, selection of scheme, evaluating alternatives and performing preliminary/detailed design.
  • Developing BFD, PFD, DPDT.
  • Checking Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), from preliminary drawings to issue for construction.
  • Checking Line Designation Tables (line lists with process and mechanical design conditions captured).
  • Checking hydraulic calculations – for pumps, control valves, and line sizing.
  • Performing detailed process design calculations such as equipment sizing, mass balance and equipment selection.
  • Completing process documentation such as datasheets, functional description, equipment lists, and manuals.
  • Participate in safety audits & Hazard Studies, as well as reviewing compliance with applicable safety and quality standards.
  • Work actively with team to ensure overall project schedules and budgets are met.

 

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from an accredited college or university. Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Relevant cumulative work experience of 20 years or more in engineering/ consultancy/ vendor organizations in the area of industrial water & wastewater treatment.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience in development, management, and delivery of projects in industrial water & wastewater treatment.
  • Technical skills across a broad range of areas within water and wastewater treatment Process design and engineering.
  • Substantial experience in the process design of industrial water and wastewater treatment plant design for Raw water treatment, Potable water treatment, Demineralized water treatment, Desalination.
  • Plants, Condensate Polishing, Softening plants and wastewater treatment for Petroleum Refineries, Petrochemicals, Chemicals, Power plants, and Mining & Metals including Zero Liquid Discharge.
  • Hands on experience in Water Chemistry, Mass Balance, Design basis, Equipment Sizing, PFD, P&IDs, Hydraulics, Equipment specifications.
  • Experience of treatment technologies including aeration, clarification, filtration, precipitation softening, ion exchange, membrane systems, floatation, and biological treatment.
  • Knowledge of water quality aspects of industrial water systems including quality requirement of boiler feedwater, cooling water make-up and cycle of concentration based on corrosion, deposit and microbiological control, chemical treatment programs.
  • Experience in the application of water chemistry modelling software and/or analytics techniques, including membrane projections software, ion exchange resin software and wastewater treatment simulation.
  • Experience in detailed design and equipment selection.
  • Outstanding verbal, written and presentation skills.
