Job Description
- Incumbent will be responsible for on-going, pro-active coverage of regional and local issues throughout the CTV Kitchener coverage area
- Identify, research, investigate, gather, write, edit, interview, and report both visually and aurally News stories in live or taped programming throughout the CTV Kitchener coverage area.
- Anchoring, Line-up, and Assignment desk duties
- Utilize digital and social media platforms for news distribution
- Operate ENG equipment and accessories for news gathering.
- Contact external organizations for background material.
- Develop story ideas for inclusion in news shows
- Other duties as required
Critical Qualifications
- Strong writing, reporting, on-camera-skills, proficiency in video journalism and a proven track record for generating innovative story ideas.
- Anchoring, producing, and assignment desk experience
- Knowledge of Waterloo Region and Southwestern Ontario (history, geography, political and socio-economic conditions)
- Experience in the operation of ENG equipment and non linear editing is required.
- Practical working knowledge of Microsoft Office and iNEWS.
- A valid G class driver’s license and a good driving record are required

Hours required based on operational needs. May include working nights, weekends, and holidays.
