About the role

This role will report into the Head of Own Brand Customer Partnerships and form a pivotal part of the ongoing management of retailer own label products that sit under the commercial team portfolio. The aim is to provide a single point of contact to manage the administration of product and specification set up for own label new product development and vintage roll for existing products ensuring productions happen on the target date. A significant element to this will involve entering wine and packaging data into the customers portal and managing the artwork approval process.  Previous experience of such portals would be very useful.

In addition, the individual will need to work closely with those in demand management and scheduling to identify when existing products are due to roll vintage early enough to allow sample approval and product set up processes to complete in a timely manner that avoids any out of stocks during the transition.

Key to being successful in this role will be an ability to work closely with internal teams spanning commercial and supply (sales, finance, wine supply, scheduling, materials, inventory and compliance etc.) and external teams (customer, external compliance provider, contract packer etc.) always representing the best interests of the customer.

 

Excellent communication skills, drive, self-motivation and attention to detail are the key skills to be successful in this role as well as a desire to be part of a high-performing team.
 

Key responsibilities include:

  • To manage the end-to-end New Product Set Up and Vintage Roll processes for all commercial own-label customers; Aldi, Majestic and Waitrose.
  • To provide a single point of contact between the customer, NAM and Accolade Wines to manage the end-to-end process for all customer NPD and vintage roll for existing products. 
  • To project manage the new product set up and vintage roll processes for commercial team own-label customers, ensuring all processes are suitably tracked, products are set up correctly and that first productions happen on the target date.
  • To implement and manage a vintage roll alert process for all existing products such that the customer approval, specification and artwork processes start early enough that we avoid any out of stocks during the change in vintage.
  • To look for opportunities to provide synergies with other processes and existing retail customers at Accolade Wines that will provide benefits to both parties.
  • To ensure all the customer’s specifications, artwork, reporting and documentation storage requirements are adequately met by the relevant portal.
  • To become the customer’s, go to individual to resolve all product technical issues so the highest standards of customer service are maintained at all times.
  • To support operations, quality, and procurement departments in accurate monthly reporting for customers, and follow up on discrepancies in bulk reserve alignments, and QC corrective, and preventative measures for trending out-of-spec bulk wine specifications. 
  • To assist Quality department with technical documents and in supplier auditing and compliance.   

What you’ll bring:

•    Degree/HNC in a science subject preferred.
•    2+ years in a Food / Beverage Manufacturing laboratory environment.
•    Previous experience in a food technologist role using product technical and artwork portals would be of value.
