Salary Range: $65,500-$110,000

- Sr HR Generalist: $65,500-$87,500
- Manager Human Resources: $85,000-$110,000

This is a full-time position that can be headquartered in Topeka, KS or Ft. Worth, TX. Travel to Topeka, KS is required if headquartered in Ft. Worth, TX (approximately 25% and/or based on business needs). For certain positions, including this one, employees can work one day per week remotely. Key responsibilities may include:
Responsible for providing primary HR support for the Topeka Mechanical Shop, Technical Research & Development, Workforce Management, and Technical Training Center located in Overland Park, KS, as well as other departments as assigned. Duties include, but are not limited to, recruitment, employee relations, talent management, diversity & inclusion initiatives, and various other HR processes supporting an exempt and union workforce. Experience multi-tasking in a high-volume matrix environment with the ability to adapt to rapidly changing priorities is essential. Must be able to respond to tight timelines.
- Strong written communication skills. Solid presentation and public speaking skills.
- Excels at building effective relationships across a diverse population and at all levels of the organization, functioning as an employee advocate and management agent.
- Assists leaders in providing feedback to employees to correct performance issues and to identify and recognize outstanding performance; assists leaders with managing exempt employees with performance problems including development of performance improvement plans and meeting with employees along with their supervisors.
- Supports the local Diversity Council activities in conjunction with the office of corporate diversity and EEO. Assists local leaders in their involvement with local diversity councils and participates in council meetings.
- Investigates and resolves hotline calls, internal complaints, and EEOC/State agency charges in a thorough manner.
- Responds to questions from employees regarding payroll, benefits and other HR related functions.
- Prepare materials and presents training to diverse employee groups on various human resources and benefits topics.
- Proactively anticipates employee concerns and works with department leaders on resolution and handling.
- Provides career mentoring and counseling for employees in conjunction with leadership.
- Facilitates and executes on various projects to improve processes and meet departmental needs.

Basic Qualifications:
- Able to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship now AND in the future.
- The level of position is based on experience and can grow over time. To be considered for the Sr HR Generalist role, you must have a minimum of 2 years of Human Resources or relevant work experience. To be considered for the HR Manager role, you must have a minimum of 3-5 years of Human Resources or relevant experience.
- Individual must have strong demonstrated interpersonal and communications skills (verbal and written).
- Individual must be self-directed, motivated, and excellent planning and time management skills.
- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office – Outlook, Word, PPT, and Excel.
- Prior experience in recruitment and hiring selection.
- Experience handling a high volume of employee relations activities.
- Comprehensive knowledge of all federal and applicable state employment laws.
- Must possess a high degree of integrity in handling confidential information and have the ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks concurrently.
