Salary Range: $65,000 – $85,000

Annual Bonus: Bonus Target $5,950 at 100%, payouts range from 0 to 200%.

The BNSF Railway Finance Department provides innovative strategic solutions and world-class financial services to support BNSF’s overall performance. Within the Finance Department, several specialized departments contribute to its overall mission: Controller, Revenue Management, Strategic Sourcing, Tax, Treasury, and Strategic Studies. Each department is vital in managing BNSF’s financial health and strategic financial planning. These departments work collaboratively to secure BNSF’s economic stability and support its growth and innovation within the railway industry. 

 

This is a full-time position located in Topeka, KS. For certain positions, including this one, employees can work one day per week remotely.  Our leaders also foster a culture where work life balance, which requires flexibility for when life happens, is important and respected.

 

Travel is minimal to zero 

 

Key responsibilities may include:  

 

The primary responsibilities of this position will be to effectively manage a portion of the Accounts Receivable portfolio, but not limited to:

 

Support a staff of account representatives with their initiatives

Effectively facilitate escalated communications between BNSF and the customer

Effectively communicate to upper leadership customer/portfolio updates

Conduct team meetings to update staff on best practices and continuing expectations

Provide quality internal & external customer service, including interacting with customers and staff

 

Daily work is conducted in an indoor office environment.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Able to work in the US without company sponsorship now AND in the future.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related discipline
  • Minimum 1 year experience in finance-related field, as applicable
  • Strong interpersonal skills, which would facilitate the ability to work with customers and internal BNSF business partners in customer negotiation and conflict resolution
  • Candidate must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to adjust readily to multiple demands and shifting priorities
  • Proven work experience as a team leader or project manager
  • Capacity to work independently with a high level of motivation

PREFERRED QUALITIFICATIONS:

  • Three years of BNSF experience
  • Knowledge of BNSF systems (RAS, CCL, and TSS) and EDI applications.
  • SQL Teradata proficiency; Experience with Alteryx
