This job is a member of the Fatigue Risk Management Team within the Safety Systems, Efficiency and Compliance organization.

Responsible for the analysis, trending, and development of mitigation strategies related to operational fatigue factors and regulatory compliance of flight time and duty time for our crew members
What you’ll do
-
Conducts fatigue removal investigations, analysis, and trending of fatigue reports and issues associated with flight time and duty time for flight crews and flight attendants
-
Identifies trends and safety related concerns arising from analysis and assists with development of operational mitigation strategies for flight crews, flight attendants, and other workgroups
-
Provides necessary coordination with other stakeholders, including preparation of working group meetings to address issues associated with fatigue and flight time and duty time within the American Airlines operation

Drafts recommendations and corrective actions associated with flight time and duty time for flight crews and flight attendants
-
Develop data review packages for the FAA, 117 Working Groups, Fatigue Review Committees, and any other meetings as needed

Ensure timely responses to inquiries from crewmembers related to fatigue and flight time and duty time

Assists with:
-
development and approval for Part 117 FRMS Alternate Methods of Compliance,
-
analysis and modifications to for flight crew and flight attendant pairing construction and monthly schedule modifications,
-
training for internal stakeholders and APA
-
Coordinates with American Airlines management, other departments, and labor unions on events reviewed during fatigue and regulatory review meetings

All you’ll need for success
Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
- Bachelor of Science Degree in an aviation field or equivalent experience
- 3 years related job experience or education in Crew Scheduling, aviation operational environment, fatigue risk management or other areas of the human factors field
Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

Bachelor’s Degree or higher in an aviation, safety, or human factors
-
Experience in human fatigue studies, human factors studies, safety studies, or crew scheduling/crew planning
-
Experience working collaboratively with employee union groups
-
Working knowledge of the FARs and collective bargaining agreements
-
Strong organization, analytical and interpersonal skills
-
In-depth knowledge of SABRE FOS/DECS computer systems
-
Ability to analyze and trend data
-
Prior Tableau experience
-
Experience with bio-mathematical fatigue modeling software such as SAFTE-FAST or the Boeing Alertness Model
-
3 years’ experience in Crew Tracking or Crew Coordination
Skills, Licenses & Certifications
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills to include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc
- Ability to multi-task with changing priorities
- Ability to demonstrate initiative and assertiveness
- Ability to interact with all levels of management
