The Role
This role presents an excellent opportunity for an individual seeking to advance their career through experience with a global technology company based in Singapore. The primary responsibilities include collaborating closely with internal stakeholders and external auditors as well as tax agents to ensure timely compliance with financial statement preparation and tax filing requirements, as well as meeting country-specific compliance obligations. Additionally, the position demands ensuring that local GAAP statutory reporting deadlines are met under all circumstances. Embracing a growth mindset, this role will be pivotal in implementing process improvements, maintaining compliance with transaction recording, and focusing on global standards and special projects.
The Main Responsibilities
- Contribute to the preparation of local GAAP financial statements, trackers, and notes to accounts to ensure audit compliance in the APAC region, primarily focusing on the Philippines, Thailand, and Hong Kong. Opportunities may also arise to assist with reporting for other countries such as Japan, Singapore, China, and Malaysia.
- Assist in meeting all filing deadlines by supporting the annual corporate tax processes, periodic VAT returns, and handling ad-hoc tax issues/requests through close collaboration with internal stakeholders and tax agents.
- Liaise effectively with auditors and tax agents to provide all necessary supporting documents and variance analyses accurately and promptly.
- Coordinate with the broader team to gather additional information as required by the auditor.
- Actively contribute and collaborate within the team to achieve common goals, solve problems, develop mutually beneficial solutions, and share accountability for results and outcomes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What We Look For in a Candidate
- A Professional Accounting Qualification such as CA, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent
- Eight or more years of comprehensive accounting/financial reporting experience/shared-function experience
- Professional demeanor and appearance in all interactions
- Knowledge of financial reporting requirements
- Goal-oriented and meticulous
- Good planning and time management skills
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written
- Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision
- Ability to make decisions with little direction from a manager
- Skill in obtaining information from various departments within Lumen to accurately reconcile key corporate accounts
- Proactive in setting priorities and completing projects
Preferred Requirements:
- Experience with US GAAP reporting
- GAAP reporting for APAC countries
- Familiarity with SAP or other major ERP systems like Oracle
- Blackline reconciliation system
- Costar lease management system
