About the Role:

Reporting to the Director, Business Development, the Senior Manager will work with Business Development, Divisional Strategy, Commercial, and Clinical to assess and plan strategies to enter new, adjacent markets.

 

This individual contributor will develop a deep understanding of the Urology business, establish a fact base for growth opportunities in adjacent markets, and recommend strategies to action entry. S/he is expected to develop relationships across the division, scope thoughtful plans to address divisional growth strategy, and ensure deliverables with compelling recommendations are completed in a timely fashion.

 

The successful candidate will gain:

  • Experience influencing and executing strategy through business case development and action plans.
  • Leadership development and coaching on technical skills, including market landscaping, validating and pressure testing forecasts and other assumptions, and driving cross functional alignment.
  • Exposure to senior leadership and franchise leadership in Urology.

 

Work Mode:
At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows a hybrid work model requiring employees to be in either our Marlborough, MA, Arden Hills, MN, or Minnetonka, MN office at least three days per week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain deep understanding of Urology division’s franchises, adjacent opportunities, and strategic goals
  • Develop and refine a fact base of current and future adjacent market dynamics, competitive landscape, key business trends and market conditions through market research, clinical literature, coordination with divisional teams and interaction with key customers
  • Formulate and challenge current views on relevant markets, sectors, and technologies to educate, prioritize, and action new market entry
  • Facilitate cross-functional discussions and recommendations on prioritization and strategy initiatives focused on growing the business in new segments
  • Ongoing support and refinement of market revenue and segmentation models in partnership with Strategy and Finance, and translation of those to financial models that assess specific markets or opportunities
  • Support pipeline discussions around future portfolio
  • Collaborate with business development and venture team to evaluate new investment opportunities in identified markets
  • In all actions, demonstrate a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance to the Quality Policy and all other documented quality processes and procedures.

Required Qualifications:

  • University degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • 5+ years experience in healthcare or consulting for healthcare clients
  • Demonstrated experience in leading cross-functional strategy projects to successful execution
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex information into a strategic, cohesive, and succinct business plan, including experience building market, revenue, or investment models
  • Verbal, written communication and presentation skills, coupled with the presence and self-confidence to interface with key constituents including divisional leaders, customers, and external parties
  • An organized and motivated self-starter with the capacity to work individually and as part of a team effort and operate with urgency.  Additionally, he/she will be able to work with flexibility, efficiency, enthusiasm and diplomacy
  • Ability to travel up to 20%

The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) – see www.bscbenefitsconnect.com–will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

 

Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).

 

Compensation for exempt, non-sales roles may also include variable compensation, i.e., annual bonus target and long-term incentives (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
