Overview

Job Summary 

 

The ‘Regional Segment Manager – Energy’ is the leader of the energy segment in EMEA. The role exists to plan, lead and deliver high growth in the energy segment. This role includes account management, as well as targeting new customers via business development. The regional segment manager role is a domain expert in energy. The role will target technical, operational and business level persons for opportunities, BD and brand building and must be competent and comfortable engaging across all three role types. The role will champion user growth, account growth, solution-selling, retention, up and cross sell and strive to exceed set KPI targets.   

The role will work provide domain, market, trends and solution knowledge to the wider EMEA team and global energy team. Your development within this role will be directly linked to your ability to continually learn through formal learning and experience. Self-awareness and development are key. The role works across the entire region and will require collaboration with global peers, collaboration is key to delivering growth (leads, pipeline, new sales, existing growth and so on) – i.e. the BDE, BDM, teams, Customer Solutions, Regional Operations.  

The role requires domain knowledge, wide commercial experience and skills, excellent communication skills and cultural awareness, both in working with internal teams and with Seequent’s global customers. Success in the role will be wholly dependent upon leveraging the combined strength of other roles in the team. The role needs to be collaborative, flexible and self-motivated to handle a variety of situations.  

We are ideally looking for someone to reside within commuting distance from our Reading, UK office to they can come into the office 2 or 3 days a week on a hybrid basis. We may also consider someone working fully remotely either within the UK or mainland Europe. 

 

Duties and responsibilities  

Leading growth in the energy segment

 

  • Segment growth – the revenue growth of the energy segment in line with or exceeding the revenue goals.   
  • Existing account user growth, account growth, solution-selling, retention, up and cross sell to exceed set KPI targets. 
  • New business development – new clients won through business development activities, at trade events, roadshows, direct to client office visits, video calls, and more.  

 

Account management  

 

  • Directly manage all Strategic and Developing energy accounts to ensure they are well attended, and we help them make best use of the technology we provide, and plan to expand and evolve this where possible. 
  • Provide domain expertise, and commercial support to other team members managing (eg Maintenance) energy accounts, and ensure this role builds direct key relationships in those energy accounts with appropriate energy, domain persona’s.  

 

Sales planning  

 

  • Own the energy strategy and plan for the region.   
  • Lead the annual sales planning process for the energy segment in this region.   
  • Working with colleagues, coordinating thinking around areas of focus and activities for the next 12month period. Including, but not limited to, focus client list, products, workflows, events, activities. Adjust and own the revenue plan, considering the risks and opportunities in the segment.   
  • Prepare and deliver quarterly ‘review and look forward’ sessions for the energy segment in this region. Check progress against your plans, and make any adjustments.   

 

Industry awareness  

 

  • Proactively keep across relevant industry news and insights. Looking out for new client projects, and challenges and opportunities that are reported. Share insights with others.  

 

Active team player 

 

  • Being hands-on, customer focused and task-oriented, this role is responsible for providing well rounded technical, domain and commercial knowledge with solution knowledge, quick response times, problem solving and solution crafting.  

 

Seequent brand ambassador  

 

  • The role contributes to the big picture for the company and region by positively developing our brand in the segment and contributing accounts and sales to the growth of the region.   

Qualifications  

 

  • Minimum 7 years experience in the energy sector (Oil and Gas or Geothermal experience is an advantage).
  • Minimum 3 years experience in a sales role with demonstrable success. 
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in geoscience, engineering or a closely related discipline   Excellent skills in communications (both oral and written in english), negotiation, analysis, reporting, and setting priorities essential. Additional language/s are an advantage. 
  • Ability to confidently explore clients workflows and business challenges, to find and suggest solutions to these often complex challenges.   
  • Comfortable handling occassional difficult situations that require triaging and action planning in a timely manner.   
  • Driven by an enthusiasm to make a difference, through the application of technological solutions to improve complex real-world subsurface challenges. 

Working conditions  

There are several office locations available, proximity to one of these is preferred, the EMEA hub office for Seequent is Reading, UK. Office based or hybrid working as standard, remote considered for the right individual. Occasional early morning, or evening calls required due to close working relationship with other global regions.   

This role will involve international travel which will be more supported by Seequent. The volume of this travel will be managed by the individual and their manager.   

Direct reports (N)  

No direct reports, however, you will lead the energy segment in this region, and this requires working closely with others, mainly customer solutions specialists, marketing, and other regions to define, agree, and coordinate activity required to achieve the segment goals.
