  • ​This job is a member of Crew Readiness IT within the Information Technology Division.
  • Responsible for providing technical leadership and mentorship for assigned IT development personnel. Responsible for the technical design, implementation, and support of full-stack applications hosted in an enterprise-managed Kubernetes environment.
  • Key qualifications which will differentiate strong candidates for this role are working knowledge of latest industry best practices within data frameworks and management (e.g., SQL/NoSQL), cloud frameworks, web services design, rules engine design, and software optimization techniques.
     

What you’ll do

  

  • Collaborates closely with engineering managers, product management, developers, testers and other architectural teams to understand requirements and define implementation strategy 
  • Develops and drives high-level technical initiatives and collaboratively secures commitment from external and internal teams for new initiatives
  • Leads inclusively to drive consensus on technical approach, sets timelines, and leads cross-functional application teams from design through delivery
  • Applies software engineering best industry practices to development of web applications and services and encourages compliance with these practices through hands-on leadership of engineers who write code
  • Provides technical guidance and direction to team developing custom web applications and services
  • Works with Application/Enterprise Architects to establish development and deployment standards, building relationships and discussing shared problems and frameworks to solve them, and ensures adherence to technology platform decisions

All you’ll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training
  • 5+ years of .NET (preferred) or Java Development Environment (JDE) experience
  • 5+ years of REST Application Programming Interface (API) framework and web services development
  • 5+ years of front-end development experience with a modern JavaScript framework (Angular preferred)

 

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • 3 years technical leadership of IT personnel
  • Airline experience in the Crew IT domain 

 

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • Demonstrated experience leading large scale projects with cross-functional stakeholder
  • Experience in /Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (e.g. ADO or GitHub Actions pipelines, TDD, automated regression testing)
  • Experience with hw/sw resource management, cloud framework implementation, micro-services
  • Experience in service optimization for performance
  • Ability to take large, complex projects and break them down into manageable pieces and develop functional specifications 
  • Well-rounded technical background in current data management technologies
