Role Details
The newly created role of National On Premise Account Manager is responsible for supporting the team deliver against its financials goals and develops long term collaborative relationships with our Wholesalers and On-Premise customers across the region.
This is a full time, permanent position.
Key responsibilities include:
- Wholesaler & Customer Engagement: Serve as the main contact with national wholesalers, fostering partnerships through regular communication and collaboration. Lead business planning meetings to align on goals and opportunities (Joint Business Planning). Negotiate and manage contracts, ensuring clear expectations and timelines.
- Account Management & Business Development: Develop and strengthen relationships with national wholesalers and key multi-state On Premise accounts to drive sales volume and revenue growth. Identify new business opportunities and develop strategies to expand brand presence across key On Premise accounts. Deliver customised sales solutions that align with account goals, leveraging the portfolio to drive mutual success.
- Strategic Execution: Create and implement tailored sales plans for wholesalers and key accounts to achieve national revenue and market share targets. Develop pricing, programming, and promotional strategies that support business objectives while maintaining profitability. Lead the implementation of national initiatives, ensuring alignment with customer needs and operational capabilities. Partner with marketing and trade teams to execute brand activation strategies and ensure cohesive messaging.
- Performance: Set clear performance objectives and KPIs for key accounts and national wholesaler partners; Continuously track sales performance against targets, addressing challenges and identifying opportunities for improvement. Drive consistent execution of national programs, ensuring KPI’s are met within the agreed timelines. Conduct Quarterly reviews with stakeholders to assess performance, share insights, and develop action plans.
- Business Analytics: Analyse market data, sales trends, and account performance to identify growth opportunities and challenges. Provide accurate reporting on sales forecasts, key metrics, and account performance. Monitor competitive activity and the market to adapt strategies and maintain a competitive advantage. Utilise data-driven insights to optimize programming, pricing, and product allocation.
What You’ll Bring
- 5+ years of sales experience in the wine or beverage alcohol industry, with a strong focus on On Premise and wholesale channels
- Proven experience managing national wholesalers and key multi-state accounts, with a track record of delivering growth
- Demonstrated expertise in contract negotiations, including building agreements that drive value and performance
- Strong business acumen with the ability to develop and execute strategic plans
- Proficiency in sales analytics, forecasting, and performance measurement tools
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship management skills
- Ability to analyse data and translate insights into actionable strategies
- Wine certifications (WSET, CMS, etc.) preferred.
