To help us continue our growth, we’re seeking an experienced Scheduling Manager to join our highly skilled team. Overview:  To oversee the daily responsibility of crewing/scheduling/administration of all technical freelance and fulltime staff operators for all of the Dome Productions events in a timely and cost-effective manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for a staff who are required to plan, and schedule effectively and efficiently the operational and technical crew (freelance & fulltime) for all Dome Production studio and remote assignments (roughly over 2400) as well as any required surveys.
  • Work closely with the Director of Production Services, Production Mangers, Clients, and Technical Producers regarding schedules, capacity, and resources for ongoing scheduled production events to ensure that crewing of events is carried out as far in advance as possible.
  • Ability to understand and anticipate various client needs and staff the event with adequate and trained personnel
  • Effectively manage inter-company expectations, communications, and relationships
  • Assist in the planning, training and development of fulltime and freelance operators based both on the organizational and individual needs; including recruitment and selection, policies and practices, succession planning, morale and motivation, performance feedback
  • Stay informed as to the relevant skill and qualification levels required by staff/freelancers for effective performance
  • Ensure all the clerical and administrative duties associated with scheduling are carried out as well as relevant information is communicated to necessary operators and departments.
  • Demonstrate leadership ability in motivating staff by providing effective communication of goals and objectives and ensuring a strong sense of ownership and accountability towards the organization’s success
  • With thorough and detailed knowledge of all department roles and functions, act as a mentor/coach for other team members

Critical Qualifications

  • College diploma, university degree or equivalent experience in remote media industry
  • 8 to 10 years industry related experience with at least 5 in management and  leadership roles
  • Understanding of the supply and demand nature of freelancers and client demands relative to the media industry
  • Critical thinking capability to solve problems, recommend solutions in a time sensitive, stressful situations
  • Strong management and leadership skills with the ability to grow and develop resources and create followership
  • Ability to mentor and coach others
  • Excellent ability to prioritize, manage and complete task effectively
  • Flexible and versatile in thinking and actions. Sense of urgency
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail accuracy
  • Strong people interaction skills
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
