BWXT is looking for a Corporate Development Manager for its Washington, DC location! 

 

At BWXT, the Corporate Development Manager is responsible for leading and executing strategic initiatives, including mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, partnerships, and other corporate development activities. You will work closely with the Vice President, Corporate Development and Mergers & Acquisitions, to identify and evaluate potential opportunities, conduct due diligence, negotiate definitive agreements, and manage the integration process. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance and strategic planning, with a proven track record of successfully managing complex projects. The candidate will need to be a strategic thinker with excellent analytical and communication skills, capable of working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. The responsibilities will include identifying and assessing potential acquisition targets, negotiating deal terms, and managing relationships with key stakeholders.

 

Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Identify and Evaluate Opportunities: Conduct thorough market research to identify potential new business opportunities, including mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships.
  • Strategic Partnerships: Develop and manage strategic partnerships to enhance business performance and drive growth.
  • Market Research and Analysis: Perform detailed market research and competitive analysis to inform strategic decisions and identify trends.
  • Due Diligence: Oversee the due diligence process during mergers, acquisitions, and other transactions, ensuring all financial, legal, and operational aspects are thoroughly evaluated.
  • Negotiation: Negotiate terms of deals and agreements with potential partners and stakeholders, ensuring favorable terms for the company.
  • Integration Management: Work with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth integration of acquired entities, including aligning business processes and systems.
  • Business Case Development: Develop and present comprehensive business cases to senior management for approval, including financial projections and risk assessments.
  • Market Trends: Stay up to date with market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to identify potential opportunities and threats.
  • Strategic Planning: Participate in strategic planning sessions to set corporate development goals and objectives.
  • Relationship Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with industry partners, investors, and other key stakeholders.

Required Skills / Abilities:

  • Ability to develop and implement strategic plans to drive business growth.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis, modeling, and valuation techniques.
  • Expertise in conducting market research and competitive analysis to inform strategic decisions.
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience in structuring complex deals.
  • Ability to manage projects and plan for the integration of acquired entities.
  • Strong relationship management and networking skills to build and maintain partnerships.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen with no dual citizenship.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, or related field. MBA is preferred.
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in corporate development, investment banking, or management consulting.

Physical Requirements:

  • Required to stand, walk, and sit; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms. Regularly required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Willing to spend 25% of the year traveling to various sites nationwide and internationally.

Pay: $77,000 – $112,000

 

The base salary range for this position in DC at the start of employment is expected to be between $77,000 and $112,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed ‘at-will,’ unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement.  The company further reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and other market factors.
