The Role
As a Lead Labor Relations Advisor, you will be a key contributor on our Labor Relations team, providing professional and analytical services related to labor contract negotiations, contract administration, arbitrations, and grievance resolution. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with labor relations, human resources, and operations teams, making a significant impact on our unionized workforce.
The Main Responsibilities
- Trusted Advisor: Serve as a trusted internal advisor, providing solutions-based labor relations counsel to business and human resources partners.
- Support and Collaboration: Provide thoughtful support by actively listening and asking probing questions to diagnose issues accurately. Collaborate with internal and external partners to prepare for contract negotiations, administration, arbitrations, and grievance resolution implement and to administer negotiated labor agreements.
- Contract Negotiation and Administration: Play a crucial role in preparing for contract negotiating, implementing, and administering labor contracts. This includes in-depth research, proposal drafting, contract drafting, and internal communication.
- Union Relations: Interface with union representatives to build effective labor-management relations. Collaborate with partners in human resources and the business to appropriately respond to escalations from union representatives.
- Arbitration Preparation: Assist the Senior Director, Labor Relations in preparing the company for labor arbitrations, including evaluating evidence, compiling exhibits, drafting witness outlines, preparing company witnesses, and conducting research.
- Grievance Resolution: Evaluate union grievances, develop grievance risk mitigation strategies, and make recommendations for potential courses of action.
- Data Management: Track and report trending data on contract administration, grievance resolution, and labor arbitrations. Utilize data analysis techniques to provide insights and recommendations.
- Project Management and Assistance: Provide project management support and assistance as needed, ensuring projects are completed on time and within scope.
What We Look For in a Candidate
- Experience: 6+ years of professional experience, preferably in Labor Relations, Employee Relations, and/or Human Resources, with a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education and experience.
- Perseverance: Tenacious and results-oriented, with the perseverance to overcome obstacles.
- Insight: Ability to understand the nuances of each situation and provide guidance that positively impacts organizational goals and values.
- Team Player: Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, knowing when to engage additional resources or escalate issues.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in data management and functional capabilities across the Microsoft Office Suite, including Teams, SharePoint, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail, ensuring thoroughness and accuracy in all tasks.

Compensation
The starting salary for this role differs based on the employee’s primary work location. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individual’s qualifications.
Location Based Pay Ranges $80,510 – $107,340 in these states: AR ID KY LA ME MS NE SC SD As with the pay range variety that’s based on the region of a country, specific offers are determined by various factors such as experience, education, skills, certifications and other business needs. |
