Project Overview:
The Cheniere Corpus Christi Liquefaction (CCL) Project is a Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) export facility located on the north shore of Corpus Christi Bay in Gregory, Texas. The 1,000+ acre facility started bulk early works in July 2015 as the first greenfield export facility in the United States. Bechtel has successfully and safely completed construction and it now consists of three operating Trains with an LNG production capacity of approximately 15 million tons per year (MTPA), three LNG storage tanks with combined capacity of 480,000 cubic meters of LNG, 2 Jetty superstructures that can accommodate the world’s largest vessels, and dozens of associated buildings and utilities.
Corpus Christi Liquefaction Project Stage 3 (CCL3) is a new phase at the existing CCL facility and will consist of seven midscale liquefaction trains with an LNG production capacity of approximately 10 MTPA and associated infrastructure including utilities. CCL3 will perform all this work predominantly on a direct hire basis with support from only a few specialty and service subcontractors.
Job Summary:
In this role, you will monitor work practices daily on a field project and advise superiors of observed or anticipated labor problems. You will support staffing plans, wage trend studies, and the development and presentation of craft training and orientation programs. Your work will contribute to positive workplace relationships by facilitating communication and ensuring compliance with labor laws. #LI-BH1
Major Responsibilities:
- Performs research and develops statistical information and studies on issues such as productivity, labor union or construction industry trends and practices
- Prepares staffing forecasts
- Maintains associated reference lists and files
- Ensures that LR/IR/WFS activities conform to company and site policies/procedures follows labor contract negotiation proceedings and disseminates information on progress (LR)
- Monitors work practices daily on a field project and advises superior of observed and/or anticipated labor problems
- Recommends actions to resolve these issues to avoid work stoppages and construction schedule delays
- Works with local & regional building trades representatives on process improvement initiatives (LR) and implements them at the jobsite level
- Interfaces with craft workforce, construction leadership, client, and the general public
- Produces various written project and LR/IR/WFS communications
- Supports investigations regarding employee misconduct according to the work rules
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Requires bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Advanced knowledge of applicable labor laws.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent employee relations skills and experience.
- Intermediate to advanced skill using the Microsoft Office suite of software, Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
- Experience in using SAP, in a HRIS and Employee Self Service (ESS) function, would be advantageous.
- Experience in using BrassRing, as ATS and onboarding function, would be advantageous.
- Broad knowledge and understanding of IR, including project experience in an administrative or employee relation role for IR. Proven ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Strong organization and administrative skills.
- Bi-lingual a plus.
