Job Summary:

Bechtel is looking for an Internal Communications Lead with exceptional writing skills, sound judgment, and the ability to create impactful content across multiple channels. The ideal candidate will understand how to effectively reach and engage employees, whether through internal campaigns, intranet updates, or newsletters, and will be eager to build campaigns from the ground up that align with Bechtel’s goals and values.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to develop and execute integrated communication campaigns, highlight company milestones, and ensure employees remain informed and engaged. The Internal Communications Lead will take the lead on strategic initiatives and support leadership in delivering key messages across the organization.

This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and will require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership.
Major Responsibilities:
- Bring to life the Corporate Affairs goal of shaping the employer brand and professional experience by informing, inspiring, and engaging employees through impactful internal communications.
- Act as an ‘internal marketer,’ developing and executing campaigns that drive employee awareness, understanding, and alignment with management’s vision for the company.
- Serve as a strategic business partner and advisor across departments to ensure internal communications align with company objectives and priorities.
- Support the creation, planning, and execution of strategic communications plans across various internal functions, measuring impact and effectiveness.
- Collaborate closely with the Corporate Affairs and Internal Communications teams to ensure message consistency and optimize the use of communication tools and channels.
- Manage schedules and deliverables for internal communications projects, including presentations for executive meetings, special events, and key milestones.
- Author, edit, and provide content support for executive communications, including messages, communications plans, talking points, and materials for print, web, face-to-face, and digital platforms.
- Lead special projects and take on additional responsibilities as needed based on business needs and senior leadership priorities.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Level 1
- Requires a bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience.
Level 2
- Requires a bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience building strategic communications/PR campaigns and plans.
- Strong time management and interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional project management skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work with executive leadership with maturity, confidence, and sound judgment.
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite is a must.
- Skills in editing and proofreading.
- Demonstrated ability to complete assignments under daily or weekly deadline pressure.
