Program dates: May 30 – August 8, 2025.

Location

This role will report to our Denver, CO office. Relocation will not be offered for this role. Candidate must be located within 60 mile radius of Denver, CO.

Work Authorization

US work authorization require. Role will not support candidates requiring current or future visa sponsorship.

The Main Responsibilities

Lumen’s Finance organization is looking for a Finance Corporate Development Intern to join our Corporate Development team. The intern will support the Corporate Development team in executing the Company’s goals through acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, and other strategic opportunities. Day to day tasks will involve industry research, valuation support, presentation drafting and other ad-hoc tasks. 

 

Key responsibilities of intern will include:

  • Conducting industry research such as monitoring competitors/peers, identifying industry trends, and tracking significant announcements.
  • Preparing marketing materials for potential divestitures or summarizing findings while evaluating potential acquisitions, JVs, or other strategic opportunities.
  • Supporting financial modeling and valuation analysis.
  • Synthesizing data and information provided by cross-functional stakeholders and external advisors.

What We Look For in a Candidate

Program eligibility is contingent on the candidate’s commitment of the entire 10-week program. No exceptions will be made.

•    Required qualifications
o    Enrolled at an accredited college or university, rising senior level education status (undergraduate or MBA) at the start of the internship
o    Graduating August 2025 – May 2027
o    Preferred fields include but not limited to: Accounting, Business, Economics, Finance
o    Intern must be able to work 40 hours per week during the 10-week program (May 30 – August 8, 2025)

•    Proficiency and understanding of:
o    MS Excel and PowerPoint
o    Introductory finance and accounting concepts 

•    Preferred qualifications
o    Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
o    Enjoys collaboration and works well in team environment
o    Proactive and unafraid to ask questions and find creative solutions 
o    Excellent organizational and time management skills while working in a fast-paced environment
o    Comfortable communicating with and presenting to leadership (VP/SVP levels) 
o    Open to feedback and keen to learn from mistakes
o    Financial modeling experience is a plus
o    SharePoint exposure is a plus

Compensation

Internship compensation ranges depend on each individual’s level of education, geographic location, and experience/qualifications aligned to the role.

 

Hourly Based Pay Range:
Min: $22.00/hour
Max:  $35.00/hour
