Project Overview:
Bechtel is seeking to expand its decades long relationship with Reliance by providing Project Management Consultant (PMC) Services and Engineering Procurement and Construction Management (EPCM) Services for offsites and utilities (OSBL) for a multi-billion-dollar upgrade / expansion of existing petrochemical facilities in India. Reliance plans to augment its existing petrochemical facilities in Dahej, Gujarat, and Nagothane, Maharashtra, to expand its PVC capacity. The PMC Services will be led out of India with personnel deployed in Mumbai region, the project sites in India, as well as several key contractor locations across India. The EPCM Services for OSBL will be led out of Bechtel’s India offices. The positions on the project will start as assignment in Dahej.
Job Summary:
In this role, you will lead a small team of IT staff and operations for the project. You will set Filed IT goals, and coordinate resources to meet project requirements. You will help implement the Project Automation Plan, and manage cross-functional automation, innovation, and integration requirements on site. Provide comprehensive automation support and coordination to the project and identifies and implements technical innovations that add value and improve project work processes. Develops and implements the IT portion of the project closeout plan. Performs work that requires the application of a significant range of fundamental technical information systems and technology principles in a variety of contexts while demonstrating strong leadership. Your leadership and best practices will drive successful Project IT execution.
Major Responsibilities:
- Lead PMC IT services at the jobsite and coordinate with owner EPCMs and Construction Contractors
- Coordinates IS&T resources to develop strategies to meet project requirements
- Implements the job site aspects of the Project Automation Plan
- Implements IS&T Project Procedures and adheres to Corporate and GBU IS&T Procedures and standards
- Maintains Project IT budget and associated forecasts
- Helps maintain the project application Software Portfolio
- Responds to audits as required
- Ensures the systems for the lifecycle of data are implemented
- Processes and implements non-standard requests according to global/regional automation policies and procedures.
Job Dimensions:
Supervision Received
- Receives technical guidance and administrative supervision from a designated Project IT Team Lead.
- Performs assignments independently with instructions as to the general results expected.
Interfaces
- Interfaces regularly with other personnel in Information & Digital (I&D), other Bechtel functions and/or projects, and selected internal customers.
- Interfaces regularly with vendors regarding hardware, software, and communications capabilities, as directed.
- Coordinates with client representatives and project partners regarding interface of infrastructure and software systems as required.
- Interfaces regularly with site leadership regarding project requirements, progress, procedures and policies as required.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Experience with EPC project execution
- Experience with remote office and jobsite IT initial setup
- Comprehensive knowledge of the development and execution of Project IT plans.
- Comprehensive knowledge of hardware and operating systems including system architectures, network infrastructures, client server principles, backup, recovery, and storage policies and procedures, and planning and implementing disaster prevention and recovery.
- Basic understanding of business case analysis and reporting and evaluating buy vs. build.
- Comprehensive knowledge of telecommunications systems, protocols, and support.
- Basic knowledge of web-based technologies including web page development and maintenance and web-based tools and utilities.
- Ability to organize and deliver presentations to clearly communicate to others.
- Ability to work with customers to understand their requirements and expectations by asking questions and listening.
- Basic understanding of relevant Global Business Unit operations.
- Ability to identify, track, escalate and resolve problems using comprehensive techniques and methods of troubleshooting end-user problems.
- Comprehensive knowledge of local customs and tax regulations, and national and international standards associated with information systems practice.
