Primary Function

As the EHS Specialist, you will provide support in all Environmental Health Safety & Security (EHSS) functions and coordinates plant wide safety and environmental efforts and compliance. Responsibilities may include but not limited to EHSS specific projects, program implementation, audits, training, compliance, risk assessments, worker’s compensation, and EHSS systems administration.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the management of the annual plant budget for EHSS
  • Represent facility on Global EHSS Council
  • Develop, implement, and monitor safety initiatives
  • Identify, develop, and conduct required EHSS training 
  • Manage EHSS through ISO-based management platform and reporting tools.
  • Perform routine tasks such as project safety plans, job hazard analyses, incident investigations, workplace observations and ensuring safety equipment is maintained
  • Assist with Company-wide programs such as drug testng and safety awards
  • Report safety performance to Corporate EHSS Director and plant management
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in Occupational Health & Safety/ EHS related field 
  • 3-5 years related experience

Additional Qualifications:

  • License strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge and current understanding of all applicable regulations including federal, state and local laws and standards. (US EPA, SSHA, DOT, OSHA, etc.)
  • Good general problem solving skills.
  • Excellent written & verbal communication.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of team.
  • Moderate project management- Safety meetings, Safety committees, Leadership meetings, ISO program
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
