The Role
911 Provisioning Testers interact with both internal and external customers testing and turning up new 911 services: EM Trunks, ES Trunks (MF and SS7), NG911, Data ALI, PSALI, and Make busy circuits. The ideal candidate will have had previous Message and/or Special Service testing experience. DS1 or above (HICAP) design/testing experience is also an excellent asset to ensure that the candidate has a strong grasp of facility hierarchy and nomenclature.
Location
This is a work from home position within AZ, CO, ID, IA, MN, NE, NM, ND, OR, SD, UT, WA and WY.
The Main Responsibilities
- Understanding of basic trunk engineering concepts such as tandem switching, traffic routing, and signaling.
- Understanding 911 network architecture and how 911 voice and data circuits function together in Enhanced 911 and Next Generation 911 networks.
- Utilize direct access to switches to provision DACS, remote channel units, and interfacing with INTAS for testing.
- Strong analytical skills, creative problem solving and attention to detail.
- Working knowledge of NMA, INTAS, TEMS and ability to read Word Documents Organizational skills.
- Creation or maintenance of basic Excel spreadsheets.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for interaction with marketing personnel, 911 testers, designers other Lumen Centers, and project teams.
- A certain degree of personal assertiveness and confidence is helpful to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
- Ensure circuit designs are created accurately, work with the SDC up to make corrections if necessary and direct the work of field, central office and translations technicians testing and turning up critical public safety network services.
- Maintain 911 PSAP profiles for the Public Safety NOC with detailed circuit information.
- Articulate “why” or “why not,” orally and in writing, while still maintaining constructive customer relations.

Compensation
The starting salary for this role differs based on the employee’s primary work location. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individual’s qualifications.
Location Based Pay Ranges
Minimum Annual Base Salary / Hourly Wage $14.90
Maximum Annual Base Salary / Hourly Wage $41.12
As with the pay range variety that’s based on the region of a country, specific offers are determined by various factors such as experience, education, skills, certifications and other business needs.
