Reporting to the Head of Consulting, our Principal Consultants are an integral part of the leadership team. As part of this industry-leading team you define and implement cloud-based solutions that set the benchmark for best-in-class practices and enterprise architecture guidelines.

What will your job look like?

Consulting Excellence

• Building Relationships & Strategy Execution
• Builds and nurtures deep relationships with internal and external stakeholders, clients, and partners.
• Leads a team of Amdocs cloud consulting experts, developing and implementing strategies for customer engagements with global and regional impact.
• Sets standards for good communication, sound decision-making, and active problem-solving.
• Reviews business plans against the organisation’s strategic mandate.
• Considers the long-term application and commercial viability of current research activities.
• Brings deep technical expertise and consults effectively at all organizational levels.
• Influences at scale as a trusted adviser for enterprise clients, excelling in business development, people management, relationship building, cloud solutions, and program management.
• Cloud Adoption & Technology Implementation
• Drives C-level discussions, collaborating with clients and Amdocs teams to define cloud adoption and DevOps strategies.
• Provides guidance to business and application delivery teams to maximize cloud technology benefits.
• Supports clients in troubleshooting issues in test and production environments, identifying root causes and solutions.
• Demonstrates expertise in delivering solutions in security-conscious and heavily regulated environments.
• Applies cutting-edge technologies and tools in Cloud for digital transformation.
• Builds production-grade end-to-end migration solutions with Cloud Transformation, Infrastructure Engineers, Application Teams, and business teams.
• Creates Cloud blueprints and reference architectures for various workloads and migration use cases.
• Evaluates cloud-optimized computing clusters, serverless systems, and cloud engineering frameworks.
• Establishes and maintains best practices in cloud engineering.
• Monitors and evolves cloud platforms to support business-driven use cases and new consumption patterns.

• Writes White Papers and speaks at industry and partner events about Cloud transformation.
• Presents case studies and cloud solutions at meetups, conferences, and technology events.
• Identifies opportunities to access new markets, services, and clients while conducting pre-sales activities.
• Adapts priorities and business plans based on changing market and client demands.

All you need is….

• 12 to 17 years of experience in industry (ideally banking, ecommerce, telecoms, retail, and consulting) with demonstrated track record of leveraging cloud platform for digital transformation to achieve business impact.
• At least 8 years of experience in cloud architecture and migration of workloads to public cloud.
• Demonstrated ability to articulate a position on a topic to influence significant global decisions to either Amdocs or a client
• Solid track record of enterprise IT consulting or substantial professional services experience
• Experience collaborating with stakeholders to deliver architectural solutions
• Strong working knowledge of driving and architecting large-scale, secure, and high availability solutions of public cloud environments – AWS, Google Cloud & Azure
• Extensive experience working in the highly regulated industries such as financial services
• Professional and/or Specialty level AWS certifications
• A strong understanding of public cloud security principles
• Extensive experience adhering to compliance standards
• Extensive experience with administering and deploying to cloud-based environments
• Strong working knowledge of Linux operating systems and administration
• Experience with HTTP request/response flow and REST APIs
• Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking, security, and high availability
• Experience with containerization and virtualization platforms, as well as container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes
• Broad architectural knowledge of how cloud infrastructure comes together with a rounded appreciation of technologies and approaches
• Experience with distributed or microservices architecture, and event-driven architecture
• Experience implementing enterprise applications at scale, including N-tier or multi-platform applications
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
• Experience with creating automated pipelines and workflows
• Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef etc.
• Experience with continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD) tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, CodePipeline, CodeDeploy Atlassian Stack or other
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and cloud provisioning tools such as Terraform
• and/or CloudFormation
• Experience building and packaging images and containers using tools such as Packer
• A deep understanding of public cloud security principles and experience adhering to compliance standards
• Experience in writing automation scripts with Python, Powershell, Ruby, NodeJS, Go or other
• Experience in working with source code management using Git
• Knowledge of logging & event management tools such as Splunk, ELK or other
• Experience with development lifecycle tools
• Familiar with diagramming and flowcharting tools
• Familiarity with Agile, Lean, Scrum and Kanban Methodologies
• Strong in problem-solving, being resourceful with end-to-end critical thinking to find out solutions even in unfamiliar scenarios.
• Good communication and project management skills.
• A track record of facilitating the exploration of new ideas and leading innovation among teams. Strong facilitation skills with demonstrated experience leading scoping and design sessions, sprint planning, and managing geographically dispersed teams
