General Description
Responsible for executing Regulatory Compliance Testing including formal examination programs designed to assess the effectiveness of the regulatory compliance programs and validating business line adherence to applicable Laws, Regulations, and Guidance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepares and executes regulatory and compliance risk-based compliance transaction testing.
- Ability to understand and interpret various laws, regulations, and policies.
- Conduct reviews to assure ongoing compliance with Consumer Federal and Local regulations.
- Research regulatory law, recent or proposed changes, guidance and interpretations as part of the planning process of the review.
- Maintains the work programs updated with the latest regulatory and procedural changes.
- Designs tests based on the line of business, the regulatory risks assessment and its internal control processes.
- Develops work programs establishing the procedures to be followed to conduct the review and tailored to the applicable compliance policies and procedures.
- Responsible for conducting information gathering sessions with Business Unit personnel (including management and support staff), performing substantive on-site testing, summarizing results, preparing written final reports to be presented to management, and documenting all issues raised in the course of the review.
- Demonstrates an understanding of business processes, control frameworks, and related regulatory and compliance standards.
- Performs compliance testing steps, which may include transactional testing on a statistical sampling basis up to full reviews of the compliance control environment.
- Analyzes data from multiple sources and systematically documenting the work and results.
- Manages the testing schedules to ensure all test results are completed within established timeframes and documented within systems of record.
- Identify and confirm potential compliance issues, the root causes and recommends any corrective actions.
- Prepares, presents and discusses final report in exit meetings with business line management.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education
Bachelor’s degree completed from and accredited university or college preferrably in Business Administration.
Experience
At least five years of experience in compliance testing or related auditing experience.
