Reporting to the Architectural Specialties CAD Supervisor, the Architectural Specialties CAD Technician will be responsible for reading and interpreting architectural drawings and preparing detailed and accurate product shop drawings. This position is a hands-on job where you will collaborate with Senior Designers, Team Members, Senior Managers, and clients to commercialize products from initial concept to production.

What you will do
- Reads and interprets architectural drawings.
- Prepares detailed shop drawings using AutoCAD.
- Prepares bills of materials for production.
- Reads and interprets customer approvals and incorporates site dimensions and tolerances into production drawings.
- Creates 3D models when necessary.
- Utilizes knowledge of engineering practices, mathematics, material sciences, and production processes to complete drawings.
- Maintains engineering documentation by making corrections, revisions and changes to parts and drawings.
- Collaborates closely with engineers, senior managers, other team members and customers.
- Assists project teams with the physical assembly of prototype installations for evaluation and testing purposes.
What will make you successful
- Diploma or higher level degree is required
- Minimum of 1-3 years of CAD experience in a similar role
- Proficiency with AutoCAD 2020-2024, AutoCAD 3D.
- Knowledge of good drafting practices and procedures.
- Understanding of engineering practices and manufacturing processes.
What will make you stand out
- Proficiency with 3D software such as Revit or Rhino, Mastercam.
- Understanding of building materials and construction installation and practices.

- Office Environment – This position operates in a professional office environment and is not exposed to adverse environmental conditions. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. No PPE is required.
- Plant Environment – This position operates in a manufacturing setting and can be subject to extreme cold and hot temperatures; uneven walking surfaces with cords, tools, and other obstacles; intermittent loud noises; and dusty or dirty conditions. Required PPE includes hard hat (when required), safety glasses, earplugs, steel toe/composite boots, and fall protection.
