General Description
- The Business Analyst provides support in the execution of strategies for all business units within the Popular One Division, including Private Banking, Financial Planning, Popular Risk Services and Popular Securities. Role will analyze financial results and prepare reporting to ease the decision-making process. Will also provide support with reporting, presentations and other materials for senior management. Will participate in special projects, as needed, within the Popular One Division.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze monthly financial results, identifying main variances and tendencies to assess action plans, as needed.
- Review and analyze assigned budgets for all Popular One Division units.
- Prepare monthly reporting packages for management and analyze metrics and main variances to identify areas of opportunities or potential savings.
- Provide support in the preparation of special presentations such as business reviews, board of managers, and employee quarterly meetings.
- Provide support in the design and execution of business strategies and provide update of progress.
- Collaborate with the Popular One Business Strategy unit on projects and initiatives such as employee experience and other related matters, marketing initiatives, client events, data analysis and other projects.
- Collaborate with business units in the execution of special projects, as needed.

This Job has no supervisory responsibilities but in special circumstances may lead the work of others.
Eduaction
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a major in Accounting or Finance.
Experience
- A minimum of two (2) years of work experience managing and analyzing financial information.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA’s)
- Analytical thinker with knowledge and skill in the analysis and interpretation of business financial information.
- Advanced knowledge in the use of Microsoft Office applications: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Knowledge in PowerBI is ideal.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- General knowledge in the financial industry
- Maturity and professionalism.
- Strong work ethic with a positive, can-do attitude.
- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and with minimal supervision.
- Outstanding reporting, presentation and communication skills.
- Ability to think creatively.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and teamwork.
- Shows attention to detail
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, both in English and Spanish.
