Description of the Department Global Business Services:

The Global Business Services (GBS) team is an organization established within Boston Scientific designed to reduce cost, provide value through reporting and improve the efficiency of key business processes by taking opportunities to drive standardization, leverage resources, knowledge and skills and monitor the effectiveness of service delivery against benchmarks and service level agreements.

Description of the Buyer/ Procurement Specialist role:

As a Procurement Specialist supporting the EMEA Magellan program, you will play a crucial role in upgrading our current SAP ECC ERP system to S/4Hana. The Magellan program is a value-driven business transformation that leverages a state-of-the-art ERP platform to modernize processes, ways of working, and technology, ultimately enhancing our ability to deliver products and services to patients. The program, which began at the end of 2022, aims for an EMEA go-live in August 2025. Your responsibilities will include ensuring timely and accurate execution of activities according to agreed program timelines, collaborating with multiple regions and countries, and building business relationships with various customers, stakeholders, and support functions.

 

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Support the Global Process team, Service Delivery Operations, and Magellan team with functionality design for the procure-to-pay (PTP) process.
  • Assist with testing (drafting and executing test scripts) of PTP activities in the new S/4Hana and MyBuy S4 systems.
  • Train team members and end users on new functionalities in the PTP area through various training forums, including group, 1:1, and online sessions.
  • Ensure awareness and compliance with applicable standard operating procedures to meet and champion all quality and regulatory commitments of Boston Scientific.
  • Support in cleansing activities
  • Documenting the process, and support in updating desktop procedures
  • Support in defect management
  • Single point of contact during hyper care

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • A deep understanding of the STP process.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a customer service orientation.
  • Analytical decision-making abilities and problem-solving skills.
  • An eye for detail to identify potential risks and issues.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate issues, share knowledge, voice concerns, and summarize topics.
  • Comfort with frequent change and ambiguity in a matrix organization.
  • The ability to deliver against targets and objectives.
  • Curiosity and eagerness to learn.

 

Requirements:

  • Experience within a Shared Service Centre (Finance-related) environment.
  • Experience with Procurement, Accounts Payable (AP) and Vendor Master processes.
  • Fluent in English (verbal and written); additional languages are a plus.
  • Proficiency in SAP ERP (FI module) and ARIBA; experience with S/4Hana is a plus.
  • Experience with project participation is a plus.
