You will need to have extensive experience in working with a variety of credit specific models within financial services.   This is an opportunity for a passionate and driven model operator/specialist to work within an environment that will give you an opportunity to influence key business decisions as well as exposure to senior stakeholders right across the enterprise.

 

 

What is the Role:

 

This is an exciting opportunity to join a small team who are the model owners for a number of UK credit grading, auto decisioning and IFRS9 (Expected Credit Losses) models.  In this critical role, the Model Owner responsibilities include the 1LOD oversight of the use and management of these models. You will support AIB UK’s key strategic ambition to be a model driven bank and will have the opportunity to contribute to important AIB Group and AIB UK modelling programmes.

 

This role will suit an experienced lending/credit professional with extensive knowledge of credit models, who can provide business insights and work collaboratively with key stakeholders to deliver on AIB UK’s credit model agenda. The ideal candidate will be a diligent and committed worker with good business/credit acumen.

 

The breadth of exposure to modelling approaches, model uses, and to functions across the Group provides an excellent development opportunity for the right candidate.

 

 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Accountable for the delivery of the Model Owner responsibilities at each stage of the model lifecycle (from initiation and development, business testing to deployment and ongoing monitoring)
  • Support relevant model projects and initiatives, including Group IRB model development
  • Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders in the delivery of the Model Operator agenda
  • Support data remediation and sampling to inform model development and ongoing maintenance
  • Ensuring strong model maintenance by addressing model findings and feedback, staying updated on industry best practices and working closely with business areas and UK Risk Analytics to support updates and the development of robust, value-adding models
  • Engaging with front line business areas and credit quality teams with respect to the use and training of grading, auto decisioning, and ECL models
  • Ensuring the model is assessed against all relevant regulatory / internal requirements and has a suite of comprehensive documentation
  • Supporting the drafting of papers and provide business insights to required for governance fora

 

What You Will Bring:

 

1. 3-5+ years of experience in a lending, credit risk, modelling role.

2. Familiarity with the credit lifecycle, modelling and statistical concepts

3. Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, an inquisitive mindset and tenacity to get to the bottom of an issue or query

4. Strong communication (both written and verbal) and stakeholder management skills, including an ability to understand and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences
