AGCO is looking to hire candidates for the position of Technical Information Specialist.

 

Your Impact

  • The key responsibility of the Technical Information Specialist will be to create content creation including the authoring of technical information. Technical Information includes Workshop Manuals, Operators Manuals, Service Bulletins, Assembly Instructions, Knowledge Objects, Schematics and more.
  • Additional responsibility will be to create layouts and draw illustrations for technical manuals, such as the operator’s manual service/maintenance manual, installation instructions, service bulletins, etc.
  • The creation of this information will initially be in Simplified Technical English (STE) and then translated through our partners to required languages to support the global business of AGCO. This will include creation of Annotated Topic Lists (ATL), identification of re-use topics, collating and checking information from various stakeholders.
  • A large part of the role is working with the various stakeholders (Engineering, Product Management, Marketing, etc.) to gather and develop the technical information. This includes information within engineering systems, technical data, CAD, marketing information etc. and where appropriate updating/inputting information in project management and content management systems. Attention to detail is critical as the validity and completeness of this information is crucial to the effectiveness and success in this role.
  • Following projects from conception through completion in the AGCO Major Product Introduction Process (AMPIP) and through the product lifecycle will be required to ensure any Engineering Change Notifications (ECNs) are noted, the ATL updated if needed and the changes are updated in the relevant documents.
  • Technical review of the content in collaboration with the relevant stakeholders to ensure the technical accuracy will also be the Technical Information Specialists responsibility before signing off to allow topics/chapters to go forward to translation/publication.
  • Initiate workflow to release technical information in AGCO Digital Tools with Global Release Team (GRT). Ensure the released information is available and correctly displayed in the relevant digital tools and print shops.
  • The scope of the work is to develop information for the Agricultural Products, modules / components or Digital Products as assigned. There will also be process responsibility in support of the Global teams. A Customer first and Digital first mindset is required.

 

Your Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably Mechanical/Automobile.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in Technical Writing and creating Illustration, preferably in Automotive Domain.
  • Develop Operators Manual (OM) and its Annotated Topic List (ATL).
  • Develop Workshop Manual (WSM) and its Annotated Topic List (ATL).
  • Develop Assembly Instruction (AI) and its Annotated Topic List (ATL).
  • Develop graphics/illustrations working on illustration tools like Adobe Illustrator, Creo Illustrator, ISODraw, Corel Draw, and Photoshop.
  • Coordinate with other Technical Information Specialists to complete the deliverables(graphics/illustrations).
  • Access Engineering Systems and gather material for content creation.
  • Update ATLs if information is insufficient.
  • Translate ECNs into publication comments and update ATLs.
  • Publish and distributed P2 drafts per AMPIP project and local requirements (OM, WSM, FCT, AI).
  • Deliver the P2 document drafts to the required parties, drives, folders, etc.
  • Review the drafts created
  • Deliver the content to AGCO GRT Team for Quality Control check 1.
  • Review the Quality Control output report from AGCO GRT team.
  • Rework on the content based on the AGCO GRT Team’s feedback, if necessary.
  • Update ATL for latest known translation requirements.
  • Global Process support for other Tech Information teams.

Desired Skills

  • Advanced understanding of Engineering Drawings.
  • Ability to read and understand standard related documents.
  • Expert working on illustration tools, preferably Adobe Illustrator.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical components and assemblies
  • Familiarity with automobile parts/components is helpful.
  • Experience working with electrical schematics will be an added advantage.
  • Excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong initiative and follow-through
  • Certification in Technical Writing would be an added advantage.
