The BNSF Railway Finance Department provides innovative strategic solutions and world-class financial services to support BNSF’s overall performance. The department is committed to maintaining integrity and recognizing the company’s successes, ensuring that BNSF remains a leader in the railway industry. Within the Finance Department, several specialized departments contribute to its overall mission: Controller, Revenue Management, Strategic Sourcing, Tax, Treasury, and Strategic Studies. Each department is vital in managing BNSF’s financial health and strategic financial planning. These departments work collaboratively to secure BNSF’s economic stability and support its growth and innovation within the railway industry.
This is a full-time position located in Fort Worth, TX. For certain positions, including this one, employees can work one day per week remotely. Our leaders also foster a culture where work life balance, which requires flexibility for when life happens, is important and respected.
Key responsibilities may include:
Manage and monitor the various revenue systems to ensure revenue information is properly accrued, reported, maintained, and available to business users.
Prepare and manage the daily and monthly reporting of detailed revenue projections to be used in forecasting and planning with the assistance of the Marketing Business Units.
Provide analysis, explanation and direction in solving complex issues concerning revenue accruals and deductions.
Manage the monthly closing of revenue financials which includes extensive analysis and explanations that are used by various internal and external customers.
Perform SOX key control activities surrounding the percent complete adjustment for unearned revenue.
Perform analysis and provide support for revenue accounting’s compliance with the revenue recognition accounting standard ASC 606 “Revenue from Contracts with Customers”.
Develop strong business partnerships with various stakeholders across the organization.
Work directly with external auditors on revenue related audit items.
Proactively identify, recommend, and implement process improvements.
Daily work is conducted in an indoor office environment.

Basic Qualifications:
- Able to work in the US without company sponsorship now AND in the future.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in finance-related field.
- Strong understanding of financial reporting and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Able to research accounting and reporting issues and propose conclusions on the proper accounting treatment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to adjust to multiple demands and shifting priorities.
- Strong project management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
- Public accounting experience.
- Masters’ degree in accounting or business administration.
