Overview

General Description

As an HR Officer in the Compensation Center of Excellence, you will be able to analyze, assess, design, and administer compensation policies and programs, including base pay, incentive pay, and rewards programs to support the business to meet their goals through effective talent attraction, development, and retention. This position will work on analysis referred by Talent Acquisition to manage new job analysis, offers for new or existing positions that require evaluation, job level analysis, and internal equity validation, among others.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Compensation Governance and Analytics

•            In alignment with the Bank’s People Strategy, administer and effectively implement the organization’s compensation programs.

•            Collect and analyze data to ensure that the Bank’s rewards are aligned with benchmark practices which will enable businesses to fulfill business strategy.

•            Analyze components of the remuneration scheme and prepare internal equity and external competitiveness reports; and ensure all employees’ compensation is applied properly

•            Monitor the Bank’s job evaluation, leveling and classification programs.

•            Reviews and oversee the career path process among Job Profiles to ensure overall consistency and appropriateness of application, and compliance with established policies, procedures, and guidelines.

•            Conduct job audits, evaluations classifications and grade levels and make compensation recommendations for existing employees.

•            In collaboration with the Regulatory Compliance, we assist in the bank’s incentive compensation projects to comply with sales practices policy and other compliance and risk regulations.

•            Define, document, and interpret talent compensation related policies with Legal and HR.

•            Conduct large scale and ad hoc compensation analyses and with projects needed.

•            Work closely with Talent Acquisition (TA), to understand job requirements, and provide guidance on compensation related matters for offers, internal movements, and job leveling.

•            Manage with TA compensation analyses to effectively perform offers according to relevant practices, laws and regulations in a timely manner.

•            Regularly ensure compensation strategies match or exceed industry standards in talent acquisition and the attraction and offering of talent.

•            Collaborate with different areas of Centers of Excellence such as: Talent Acquisition, Learning and Development, and Labor Relations when needed.

 

Fairness and Equity

•            Advice leaders on decisions regarding compensation best practices to pursue internal equity, merit-based pay, and rewards, and periodically, train Managers on the application of different Compensation policies.

•            Provide expertise and guidance in the execution of contracted studies, critique related consultant/benchmark reports, reviews data, analytics, and recommendations.

•            Monitor market practices and compensation trends to contribute towards effective compensation standards.

•            With a focus on internal equity, assist in promoting the consistent application of compensation programs across the bank by identifying opportunities to refine and subsequently communicate/educate on effective compensation practices.

•            Work closely with the leaders of the business you support and provide them with relevant analytics and insights.

•            Work closely with our Talent Acquisition team and provide guidance on offers for new hires and internal mobility.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Minimum Education

Bachelor’s Degree in: Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Industrial Engineering, Labor Relations, or similar fields.

Experience

A minimum of five (5) years of experience in Compensation or its related practices.

 

GENERAL SKILLS AND REQUIEREMENTS:

•            Demonstrated knowledge of HRIS systems (e.g., SAP, SSFF) and its Compensation application with experience in business application processing, reporting, and troubleshooting is desired

•            Fully Bilingual (English/Spanish) with polished and strong presentation, verbal and written communication.

•            Advanced proficiency in MS Office 365 (i.e., PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Word, TEAMS, etc.). 

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSA’s)

•            Proven ability to consolidate and manipulate large data sets with a commitment to accuracy and details.

•            Demonstrated experience conducting and interpreting statistical analyses.

•            Demonstrate the ability to challenge appropriately. Challenge clients on new roles, replacement strategy, leveling, etc.

•            Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and apply new analytical tools, techniques, and/or software.

•            Demonstrated ability to effectively navigate and collaborate in a large, matrixed corporate work setting.

•            Detailed orientation for numbers and comfort with complex modeling.

•            Proven ability to achieve objectives in a dynamic, often ambiguous, environment.

•            Ability to prioritize well and be flexible in a fast-paced environment with changing demands.

•            Able to think in an unexpected way and propose creative solutions to complex problems.

•            Demonstrated understanding of financial concepts and processes.

•            Ability to define, aggregate, and analyze metrics to assess drivers.

•            Experience setting, interpreting, and governing policies for a large-scale program.

 

Effective Communication

•            Experience engaging, influencing, and presenting to executives and senior leaders.

•            Strong written, verbal, and graphic communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate technical information to varying audiences.

•            Ability to build rapport with employees and vendors.

•            Strong interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills in both English and Spanish.

•            Advanced proficiency in MS Office 365 (i.e., PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Word, TEAMS, etc.). 

 

Certifications / Licenses

Certifications are highly desirable but not required.

Certified Compensation Professional (CCP)

Professional in Human Resources (PHR)

Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR)
