The Role

We are seeking a strategic and results-oriented Director of Hyperscalers and Alliances to join our dynamic team at Lumen. This role will be pivotal for the growth of the company in both brand awareness and revenue generation by establishing and nurturing partnerships with major Cloud marketplaces (such as GCP, AWS, and Azure) as well as Joint go to market relationships with major technology companies. As part of the Strategic Technology Partnerships Group, this role with leaders within the group as well as key leaders across the company. 

The Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive alliance strategy focused on the Hyperscalers (GCP, AWS and Azure).
  • Develop and manage relationships in the form of alliances with key technology partners.
  • Lead negotiations and contractual agreements with strategic partners.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the company
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams (Sales, Product, Marketing, etc.) to align alliance activities with overall business goals.
  • Drive initiatives to increase joint sales opportunities and create innovative solutions through partnerships.
  • Monitor and report on alliance metrics, including partner performance and ROI.
  • Stay current with industry trends and competitor activities to identify new opportunities and challenges.
  • Manage allocation of partner funds to further the joint strategies of alliances.
  • Develop programs to Promote alliance benefits both internally and externally by highlighting success stories, collaborative projects, and expanded capabilities. 

What We Look For in a Candidate

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Proven experience 10+ years in alliance management or business development.
  • Strong understanding of Cloud marketplaces.
  • Demonstrated success in negotiating complex partnerships and agreements.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to execute tactically to achieve business objectives.
  • Ability to travel as needed.

 

Preferred Experience:

  • Working with partner, product, and sales organizations at a senior level in a large enterprise
  • Defining strategies for industries within that large enterprise
  • Establishing and measuring standard operating procedures for a team.
  • Managing escalations from team members.
  • Resolving Conflict for issues that arise within the team.
  • Interfacing with Sales and account management resources to identify and refine communications to industry in support of Cosell motions.
  • Interfacing with leadership of various Lumen teams including, Marketing, Procurement, Service Delivery, Legal, Contracts, Billing, Product Management, Engineering etc. as required.
  • Developing processes to educate Sales, Account Team and Customers on industry trends and partners offerings
  • Developing a team to support Sales motions from pre to post sales as needed .
  • A clear track record for consistently exceeding revenue goals.
  • A Proven ability to hire, manage and motivate successful, solution-oriented Business Development individual contributors.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, people-management and mentoring skills.
  • Experience at being a strategic member of sales and partner management team who contributes significantly to growth and development of the business.
  • High energy level and demonstrated drive to succeed

Compensation

The starting salary for this role differs based on the employee’s primary work location. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individual’s qualifications.

Location Based Pay Ranges

$128,310 – $171,080 in these states: AR  ID  KY  LA  ME  MS  NE  SC  SD 
$135,060 – $180,080 in these states: AL  AZ  FL  GA  IA  IN  KS  MO  MT  ND  NM  OH  OK  PA  TN  UT  VT  WI  WV  WY 
$141,820 – $189,090 in these states: CO  HI  MI  MN  NC  NH  NV  OR  RI 
$148,570 – $198,090 in these states: AK  CA  CT  DC  DE  IL  MA  MD  NJ  NY  TX  VA  WA 

As with the pay range variety that’s based on the region of a country, specific offers are determined by various factors such as experience, education, skills, certifications and other business needs.
