We would like you to join our team as a dynamic and results driven Product focused New Build Sales Manager mainly for Energy & Industrials segment in Japan, you will become the vital link between our innovative technical solutions and our clients in Japan. Your ability to understand client needs, establish lasting relationships and convert opportunities into win-win sales scenarios, ensuring the continued success and growth of Chart, will be vital. As we continue to grow, this role will be primarily focused on Capex sales however will also focus on developing our wider Chart product portfolio for the Japanese EPCs, the end user, and local partners.

What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be…

  • Client relationship and sales management. Engage with current and potential clients, developing solutions that incorporate Chart/Howden’s extensive product portfolio. Manage client activity during various business and project development phases of an inquiry from its initial conception to one that can be forecasted, and revenue recognized.
  • Technical Expertise: Maintain an in depth understanding of our products and their applications, present precise value adds solutions to our clients’ needs and interests.
  • Collaboration: Work synergistically with internal teams, ensuring proposed solutions are comprehensive and aligned with client requirements. Engage Legal/Contract Administration, Finance/Credit, Business Solutions, Controls Systems, Services and business unit managers, and company management, as necessary.
  • Order growth: Lead APAC order growth through Japanese customers and set up long term business strategy planning.
  • Co-develop the product strategy to align with the company’s overall business goals.
  • Set goals and requirements for engineering & priority of projects.
  • Develop the roadmap for the product development and life cycle of the product.
  • Decision making and oversight during product development.
  • Develop intimate understanding of client challenges and interests, becoming a trusted technical advisor.
  • Ensure the continual flow of projects by establishing rapport with potential and existing customers.

Your Education Should Be…

A bachelor’s degree in engineering would be advantageous however due consideration given to relevant experience & transferrable skills.

Your Physical Work Environment Will Require…

Willingness to travel as required, with a focus on developing/closing the opportunities in Japan.

Your Professional Experience Should Be…

  • 5+ years relevant industry experience in sales, business development and product management.
  • A thorough knowledge of EPC business.
  • A self-starter with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and driving business growth. 
  • A strategic thinker, an excellent communicator, negotiator and presenter, comfortable presenting up to and including C-Suite.
  • Proficiency with Salesforce tools and related processes.
  • Experience in Project Terms & Conditions.
  • Excellent communication skills and a very good command of the English language.
